Greetings!
Normally I shy away from What I Ate Wednesday posts (I like reading ’em, just don’t normally like doing them myself), but since both the baby and I stayed home from daycare/work sick yesterday, I actually took photos of my meals (well, most of them). Even though I was at home, this is really no different from what I’d eat while at work (minus the ugly tupperware and desktop).
Breakfast was a yogurt bowl topped with some store-bought granola, a sliced banana, a sprinkling of chia seeds, and a spoonful of peanut butter. With coffee (duh?). It hit the spot.
A while later I made myself my not-so-secret “healing” concoction: warmed water with a spoonful of Bragg’s apple cider vinegar and local honey. It always seems to help when I feel myself coming down with a cold/sore throat. We shall see if it does the job this time!
After taking the baby and dog on a short walk (it was really hot, and I didn’t want a recovering baby to get overheated), I downed a cheese stick and some water.
The husband left work at lunchtime (I’d planned to go into work for a half-day and he was going to watch the baby for the afternoon, but since I woke up feeling kind of icky, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to rest and get well). Even though I was hungry, I waited for him to come home and we ate leftover pulled pork sandwiches with baked beans, potatoes, and cucumber-tomato salad.
Dinner was a frozen Morning Star black bean burger and Alexia sweet potato fries; I completely forgot to take a picture! Oh well.
That’s a wrap. Here’s hoping that rest and proper fuel leads to me feeling a lot better the next couple days (especially since we have our NOLA trip Friday/Saturday!). Later gators.
